Welcome to our new Blog Author, Breanne!

Hello, beautiful Phamily! I am delighted and grateful to be the new voice of The Pharm blog. My name is Breanne Szabados, and I have been a member of The Pharm for over a year. I wanted to introduce myself, so you can get to know a bit about me, in case we haven’t met at a class. I’ve lived in Ventura for 16 years, but for the majority of that time, I was commuting to Santa Barbara every day for work (I am in the hospitality field and have worked for Hilton Hotels for 22 years). As a result, I didn’t feel connected to Ventura, since I was rarely here. Two years ago, I started working from home, which allowed me to cultivate a better balance in life. I knew that I wanted to find community in Ventura, so I started taking yoga classes through Ventura Pop Up Yoga. I immediately felt like I was where I needed to be, and found so many incredible teachers who have changed my life in so many ways, many of whom also teach at The Pharm.

Michelle Mack taught a “Barre at the Bar” class at Ventura Coast Brewing in early 2020, which I attended. I had never taken a barre class before, but Michelle was already one of my favorite yoga teachers, so I was happy to take any of her classes. It was one of the most challenging fitness classes I had ever taken, but I was hooked! I was determined to get stronger. So began my journey at The Pharm. I was lucky enough to take a few months of classes from several teachers before Covid caused the studio to close last year, and I am so thankful we have been able to continue classes virtually and in the courtyard. I immediately knew that this studio was different from any other I had tried; it is truly a special space, and the community is so beautiful and has been since the beginning. It has been such a joy to find a community of people who champion one another on and off the mat each week. The Pharm environment is supportive, loving, strong and inclusive; I’m honored to be a part of it, along with all of you.

Writing is one of my passions, so I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share that with all of you here and can’t wait to connect with this incredible community in a deeper way.

This blog has been a resource for all things fitness, health and wellness, and that will definitely continue. I want to make sure that you are finding value in the topics addressed, so please let me know in the comments what you are interested in hearing more about in this space. I would love to hear your thoughts!
